“My approach is to create a space that reflects each client’s individual personality and brings them a sense of peace. We do not have a signature design. Each design is unique and solely about the client. I like to push the boundaries by blending unique concepts and adding life into each space with the simple facet, color. A home should be a place that welcomes and relaxes you.” explains Jody.
Jody is a certified/licensed Interior Designer and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in interior design from the CIDA (Council for Interior Design Accreditation), School of Visual Arts in NYC. ASID member as well as LEED AP ID&C. She has been recognized in magazines and online, and was named ASID CT Chapter President 2017/2018.
Specializing in color theory, concept development, space planning, budget management, new construction and renovations, Color Concept Theory is a one stop shop for both residential and commercial design needs. Jody’s personal approach to transforming a space based on the unique needs of each individual client is unparalleled, and she stops at nothing to ensure her clients are left with a home they not only love, but one they never want to leave.
Simone’s background is in hospitality and residential interiors, custom furniture design, and project management. She pays close attention to scale, balance and repetition and the combination of materials and colors. Having grown up in a modernist house in Frankfurt, Germany, she has been in awe of the Bauhaus movement and mid century design for as long as she can remember. She spent a decade living in London where she learned to appreciate a different aspect of design and decoration – that of old world charm and quaintness.
Simone received her BFA in Interior Design from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. The New York hustle suits her personality and as a professional who eagerly seeks results, having immediate access to the infinite design resources in the city makes it an ideal place for her to work.
When working on residential homes, Simone pays attention to her clients’ wish lists and tastes and strives to create a space in which they will feel happy and that is practical for their lifestyle. When designing hospitality spaces, she is concept driven. She believes in designs that will stand the test of time, rather than gimmicky trends that date quickly. Simone likes to be involved in the design process from beginning to end, from research and concept development, to drawing and specifying, to installation and stylizing. Seeing the end result in three-dimensional form makes the hard work and long hours worthwhile.
